Baby Room

Children aged between six weeks and two years will be cared for in the baby room. The baby room is registered for twelve babies at a ratio of 1:3. There are four rooms in the baby area, a messy play room/ dining room, Bedroom, Lounge and a baby changing area.

Within the baby room we are following the Early Years Foundation Stage. Each child will be assigned a key person who will be a point of contact for any discussions regarding your child’s progress or to discuss any concerns or suggestions that you may have.

Each child in the baby room will be issued with a baby book which gives a brief outline of what they have been doing at Nursery. It also aims to act as a two way communication system so parents/ carers are encouraged to use the books to inform us about routines, likes/ dislikes etc. Each child in the setting will also have a special book called their "Watch me Grow" document that include observations, assessments and digital photographs/ artwork to show the child's development.

We do ask that nappies/ wipes and a change of clothes are provided for your child. We are able to offer short introductory sessions prior to your child starting if required. Individual needs can be discussed on introduction.

Playroom

The playroom caters for children aged two years to school age. The room consists of a carpet area for group times, song, stories etc. There is also an area for meals, table top activities and a conservatory which is our “Messy area”.

Children in the play room are encouraged to develop their personal and social skills and to feel confident and independent in the nursery environment.

The EYFS is implemented within our play room also, with each child also having a "Watch me grow" document.

Children aged three to four are entitled to Nursery vouchers(Early Years Education Entitlement) which allows them free sessions. At present each school term pre-school children are entitled to five * two and a half sessions free.
